Protect
Yourself At ATMs
ATM SECURITY
- If possible, avoid
using ATM in darkness. If you must attempt to have a person with
you. Attempt to find an ATM in a well lit area.
- Familiarize yourself
with the security devices in place.
- Thoroughly observe
the area around you. Look for loitering nearby. Look
for suspicious people and parked running vehicles.
- Be cautious of anyone
who engages you in conversation as you approach the ATM.
- Don't count money
at the ATM ( if money is short, not much you can do until next
business day.)
- Make sure no one
observes your PIN as you type it in.
- Do not leave your
receipt at the ATM
- DO NOT reveal your
PIN to anyone in person or over the phone for any
reason, even if person states they represent the bank.
