Call signs are the radio identifiers
for police units. The letter at the beginning of the call sign
indicates the district. 'J', or 'Jake' as it is pronounced,
is the designation for district 13.
A call sign beginning with the
number 4 indicates a Service Unit, a one man cruiser. A call
sign starting with 1 is a two man rapid response unit. 6 call
signs are walking beats and 2 call signs are for wagons.
Sergeants call signs begin with 9, Detectives with 8.
