E13 Detectives
Dear residents of Jamaica Plain:
Welcome to the District 13 web page. The Detective Unit is committed
to work in partnership with the residents of Jamaica Plain. Our goal
is to solve crimes, reduce fear and improve the quality of life in
Jamaica Plain. We need the community to be partners in helping us
to identify and solve crimes within the community. This is accomplished
from true collaboration with residents. We view the community as equal
partners, working side by side in addressing crime problems and levels
of fear.
My responsibilities as the day shift Sergeant Detective are to assign
and supervise cases that are assigned to detectives. I am also responsible
for evaluating crime statistics, identify crime trends and make recommendations
to the Captain as to the best way to address the problem.
Over the last few years we have seen Part One Crime decline significantly
but we must not rest on our laurels. Our streets are safer because
of the partnerships forged with the community. Jamaica Plain is a
safer, more vibrant place to live and work because of this collaboration.
Maintaining lower levels of crime and reducing resident's fear of
crime is what we strive for at District 13. Also attached to the web
page is email addresses for different units within the Police Station.
