By:
Maria Perry
My name is Maria Perry
and I am Bilingual (Spanish/English) I am the Peace Liaison A.K.A.
Domestic violence advocate for district E-13. I work closely with
Detective John McCabe on all Domestic Violence cases. I am the first
contact person who reaches out to all victims of Domestic Violence
as long as a police report has been established, as known as 1.1
report.
My role as an advocate
is to provide safety, develop and maintain familiarity with existing
domestic violence and human service delivery systems in Jamaica
plain and providing crisis intervention for domestic violence victims
and their families. In addition, I perform assessments and evaluations
of victim's needs and do follow-ups including assistance with referrals
for the appropriate services such as shelter, courts, children services,
counseling, peer support groups, immigrants & refugees, protection
and relocation, etc.
Victims needs are very
important to me and I will do everything in my power to successfully
guide them in the right direction. I encourage all of you in the
Jamaica Plain community to reach out to me if you know of anyone
who is experimenting domestic violence. Please do not hesitate to
call me and leave me a voice message at
617-343-5628
or
1-800-JANE-DOE.
I am a member of the
Dorchester Community Roundtable and the Jamaica Plain Violence Providers
Network. We meet once a month to discuss goals and how we can as
members can better educate the community in Domestic Violence awareness.
